I had a small shoot today while trying to dodge rain squalls from a front that’s been sitting on top of us for days and the source of the storms that have been far too plentiful this summer. Generally we get a good deal of rain in the summer, but this year it’s been pretty much like living in a terrarium – rain, sun, steam, more rain, sun, more steam, etc. – you get the idea.
I tried to decide at 06:00 whether to call the shoot or go for it, not wanting to get gear or people wet, if I didn’t have to. Things were changing fast but in the end we went for it and were rewarded with an hour or so of good sun despite some fairly heavy ground fog. Took about forty-five minutes for the condensation to evaporate off my long lenses, despite having left the gear in the barn-isle over-night to acclimate it to the really high humidity. Nice morning. Here are a couple out-takes from the location.
